...actually the hottest one in 75 years (in Finland). Lounging at my father-in-law's cottage near Lappeenranta, most of the week was spent in the lake. The island has the best possible beach for kids; smooth rock above the waterline, soft sand below and shallow water for at least ten meters.
While the kids were taking their daily nap, I participated in my father-in-law's construction project (going on for the third year now). All kinds of flying and biting insects were aplenty so wearing a t-shirt was a good idea, although after a couple of hours I was drenched in sweat...
Practicing the normal summer cottage routines ...
Sauna was only heated once or twice to amuse the kids. The coolest thing was the live frog they saw hiding under the sauna benches.
The builder of the original sauna was some crazy tin artisan who made almost everything by himself. The remains of the original stove were just thrown out last summer when we replaced it with a new one and I've always thought those bits and pieces look kinda cool but I've so far failed to take a good picture of them.
Nobody bothered to measure the warmth of the water. Even late in the evening the lake was just barely refreshing.

Brilliant color tones again and good shots in general as well.
