My father emailed me this image he found in his archives. I’m about eight years old in this shot so that would make it year 1983. As you can see, not much has changed in 27 years; I’m still taking mirror self-portraits and using a rangefinder, but at least I’ve learned to focus with both eyes open :) ..
Even though it has been a long detour going through film SLRs, medium format Rolleis and cheap-ass Hasselblad-knockoffs and digital SLR’s, I’m somehow “returning home” with the Leica M9. For that I have to credit the exceptional photographers listed in the Links section, especially misters Koller and Puustinen.
BTW, I still have that sweet little Olympus 35RC seen in the shot :)
